North Cornish cricket club with 3 men's teams in the Cornwall Leagues, women and girls softball and large junior section with All Stars and Dynamos Cricket.
Dear
@benstokes38
,
Thank you. You’ve done more for English Cricket than you’ll ever know.
You couldn’t have got anymore people in the Clubhouse today if you tried.
Love from all at grassroots cricket
Introducing our winter project. The grounds shed has been extended downstairs so all machinery can be housed in it & upstairs is a new score box. Not quite finished but it’s looking fantastic & there are lots of thanks to be made when complete, been a great community effort 🏏🦢
Wadebridge win the Hawkey Cup!!!
Turpin is the hero with an unbeaten 75 to bring victory in the 19th over, the first Hawkey Cup final win in many a generation. Well done fellas
What a performance from Callum Wilson yesterday, 6-42 including a spell of 4 wickets in 5 balls that included a hat trick, before coming back to take the final wicket. That makes figures of 12-54 in his last two games!!!
We are delighted to announce ahead of the 2021 season that Cornwall all-rounder and former Cornwall captain Matt Robins has joined the Swans. Matt has been a key player for the county since making his debut in 2006, with a highest score of 143 and best bowling figures of 4-18.
We are delighted to welcome back Cornwall’s tallest cricketer, James Maycock. James was a key part of the team that won promotion from Division One in 2017 and is pictured with 2nds skipper Ross McLachlan who is very pleased to welcome James back as he looks ahead to the season
Here's the moment James Turpin sealed it with a six to win the Hawkey Cup and secure the player of the match award. He ended unbeaten on 75 off 50 balls with 3 x fours and 5 x sixes, to go with a wicket and catch as well.
Ahead of a very exciting 2020 season, we are delighted to announce the signing of Kelvin Snell. Kelvin is one of Cornwall’s premier all round cricketers and a popular face throughout the county. Welcome aboard Kelvin and we look forward to welcoming you to The Riverside
The Club are very pleased to welcome back the Westcountry’s tallest (might not be factually correct) cricketer James Maycock. Here he is pictured with batting partner and soul mate Matt Jolliffe. Welcome back James!
Yesterday’s 1sts win was (probably 😉) the final game in charge for
@TheLobsterDr
who is standing down as skipper. He’s seen the Club through some tough times but also the unbelievable highs of winning Div 1 in 2017 & maintaining Premier status in 2018. Thank you for everything X
Quite a weekend, huge congratulations to the 1st team on becoming Premier T20 champions for the 1st time, a real all round effort. More reaction to follow
🦢🏏
Absolutely outstanding day of cricket as
@wadebridge_cc
beat
@PenzanceCricket
for the second time in 2 days to secure their place in the T20 Kernow Crash Final which they then go on to win against
@stjustcc
.
Player of the day was Matt Robins with an amazing 99 runs in the final.
The ground is ready for today's National Counties Group 2 T20s between Cornwall & Dorset. Cornwall need 2 wins to go through to finals day with Dorset needing one win. The first game is at 11am.
There is a bar & BBQ throughout the day & live music from
@theclaze
from 7pm.
We are pleased to welcome left-arm spinner Matt Lawrence to the club ahead of the 2023 season. Matt recently played for Penzance & Paul & has relocated to East Cornwall. All at Wadebridge CC look forward to seeing Matt in action and wish him all the best in a Swans shirt 🦢
Many congratulations to our hard working grounds team who were awarded Cornwall Cricket 'Volunteer Grounds Management Team of the Year" at the recent Grassroots awards.
Congratulations to Penzance on winning a thrilling final in todays Kernow T20 Crash, a great game that went down to the last ball. Thanks also to Grampound Road for being great hosts.
A great effort by the boys today pushing Penzance really hard, plenty to be proud of.
🦢🏏
Many thanks to
@stjustcc
for staying so long after the game yesterday and creating such a great atmosphere. We hope the bus journey home was a fun one. See you next season fellas 🍻
The Club are delighted to welcome back
@JRTurps
ahead of the Premier League campaign. Turps was an outstanding junior, scoring a 1st team century & taking many wickets, and returns as a full County player with first class experience at university. Welcome back Turps!
Many, many congratulations to
@mattyowo
on his Cornwall debut this weekend in the 3 day fixture at Truro, a fully deserved call up after a great start to his time at Wadebridge and great around the club as well. Go well Matt
Matt Robins pictured scoring his first century for the club with an unbeaten 114 off 95 balls (16 x 4s, 1 x 6) as he saw the 1st team to an 8 wicket victory
We’re more than delighted to be chosen as a host for Cornwall this summer in a T20 double header against Wales. The Club hasn’t hosted Cornwall since 1988, so after a 20 year absence we’re thrilled to host again
The seed has been planted and the loam spread to bring the sun down on the season that nearly never was. Thanks to all who have contributed in anyway these last few months, it’s been a season of many challenges but ultimately rewarding and enjoyable. Thank you all 🏏
The 1st team go down to a 5 wicket defeat against St Just who paced their chase perfectly. Half centuries for Neil Curnow and Phil Nicholas with cameos from Max Waller and Gareth May.
Great game of cricket, deserving of first on Match Of The Day, congratulations to
@stjustcc
Both teams observe a minutes silence in memory of Tom Meneer, a former player and Vice President of the club and a Falmouth and Cornwall legend. RIP Tom
We’re delighted to be welcoming back Kevin Renecke for s second spell.
Having had a fantastic year in 2019 when he topped our batting stats, Kevin returns after a couple of aborted years in 2020 and 2021.
Welcome back Kev, we can’t wait to see you in action again
🦢🏏
Very sad to hear the passing of former player and vice-president Tom Meneer, who also helped dig out and lay the square where it still stands to this day. A great character and supporter of the game who will be greatly missed. Our thoughts are with his family
As we look ahead to the cricket season we are very pleased to have been chosen to host the Cornwall National Counties team against Herefordshire in two T20s on Sunday 9th May.
For all Cornwall's fixtures please visit
The 2nds win!!!
Huge congratulations to all the team, a phenomenal achievement to win the league and go to the highest standard they have ever played in.
Celebrate well team
🏆🏆
Turpin completes a fantastic day as he bowls the last two to end with four wickets to go with his century. Torquay 97 all out to give Wadebridge a win by 150 runs
The 2nd team complete a memorable season by racing to an 8 wicket victory in the County Final, chasing down Crofty-Holman’s 58 in just 7.1 overs, Meneer with 31. Congratulations to Rob Centini and the team for a superb season
Yesterday’s end to the league season brought three wins from three, a great effort. The 2nd team win carried on their amazing run of wins & meant for the 1st time they top the table at the time it matters most. Huge congratulations to Rob and his team, division 3 east champions
What a day for the Gill family yesterday, Alek with 109 and nephew Kieran with a first five wicket haul for the second team in their home win over Tideford. Congratulations all.
Turpin goes to his 3rd hundred of the season, his 2nd in the league, off 104 balls with 13 boundaries and 2 maximums. A great season for him, many congratulations from all at the club
With the new season just over 3 weeks away we’d like to introduce our new T20 kit for the season when the teams will be known as ‘Wadebridge Warriors’.
Thank you to all the sponsors for their generosity, and to
@cornishcricket
for their help
#warriors
Congratulations to Roche on a seven wicket win to seal the division 2 east title, to be one game away from an unbeaten season is an unbelievable achievement. Congratulations all
The eve of the cricket is exciting, the pre-season work is done & everyone is ready for the action to start. So to be broken into & paint chucked over our equipment & particular the wicket mower is disheartening. If you know of who may be responsible please contact the club
Some incredible work has been done by the grounds team to get the ground looking as good as it is considering the terrible weather over the last month and more, we’re now keeping everything crossed that it means the season can start next weekend when the 1st team host St Austell.
The 2nds round off an incredible season with a 9 wicket win in the playoff final against Camborne, Tom Clarke striking the winning boundary after Sam Richards scored 38 & Matt Gordon finishing unbeaten on 25.
A quite superb end to a superb season, well done all the players.
🏆
The 1st team pull off a one wicket win over Redruth, chasing down 226 with 10 balls to spare. A ninth wicket partnership of 55 between Dunnett (47) and Ellis (18no) got them to within four before Ellis hit the winning boundary. Great game
Happy Christmas to all the players, families, volunteers and supporters at Wadebridge CC and to one and all.
We can’t wait to get going again in 2022
🦢🏏
Many congratulations to Elliot Dunnett who was this week awarded the Clive Osbourne Cup for the outstanding young bowler in the Cornwall East Divisions. Well done Ells from all at the club
We are delighted to have been chosen to host the Cornwall National Counties team again this coming season, with Dorset being the visitors on Sunday 8th May for two T20s.
The 2021 first team who finished 7th in the Premier League as well as bringing back the Hawkey Cup for the first time in over 50 years and made the finals day of the T20 Kernow Crash, well done to
@Callumwilson8
and all the team this season.
🦢🏏
Many congratulations to captain Rob Centini and his 2nd team in winning Division 3 East and the County Playoff, a great end to a terrific season. The team went undefeated since May and wrapped up their season with an emphatic 8 wicket win today over West Champions Crofty-Holman
In a quite incredible game, Jolliffe (21) and Renecke (17) knock off the required runs in the 9th over to give a ten wicket win in a match that will be remembered for Callum Wilson’s 9-19
Saturday also saw us celebrate Tim Redman’s 80th birthday, a long standing former player, committee member and President and now looks after our outfield after many years as part of the grounds team. Thank you Tim for all you’ve given back to the game
It was fabulous to welcome former Club and County Captain and Life Member Keith Davis to the 'veterans stand' to watch the match today against Camborne.
A true club legend who led the club through its most successful era.
He had a great afternoon catching up with old friends.
What a performance from these two today in the 2nd teams 139 run win over Menheniot Looe.
@SamRich05466151
with an unbeaten 118, his first century in any cricket.
@CharlieHawken
with 5-49, his first five-fer for Wadebridge.
Many congratulations to you both.

Here's the results summaries from a historic day. The results mean the 1s win the Premier League for the first time since 1968 & the 2s win Div 2 East to go to the highest level of cricket they have ever been at. There was also a defeat for the inexperienced 3s.
What a day 🦢🏏
Many thanks to Vic Luke for this real

We are delighted to have been chosen to host the first game of the season for the Cornwall County side in 2023, as they face Wiltshire in two T20s on Sunday 23rd April.
This week is Grounds Week in association with
@thegma_
& we would like to send huge thanks to those who work so hard & give up their time to prepare & maintain the grounds both at Wadebridge and also
@PencarrowArrows
. We are so fortunate to play on two such fantastic grounds.
The second team have bowled Tintagel out for 83, Alek Gill taking 2 wickets to wickets to add to the hundreds he has already taken for the club. KP knows how good he is.
The Club are delighted to be hosting the senior Cornwall Men’s team this summer in a T20 double header against Wales. It will be the first time in over 30 years the club has hosted the full county side, so please come down and support them.
What an awesome end to a fantastic season!
Tonight saw our Swans finish the season with another win making them Mid Cornwall softball champions! Top of league, undefeated! All the hard work and dedication in matches and training is there for all to see! ! 🦢🦢🦢🦢🏏🏏🏏🏏🏆🏆🏆🏆

Many congratulations to Jamie Beare who scored his first half century for the 1st team yesterday as he scored a crucial 69 in the narrow win over visiting Camborne. His partnership of 104 with Kelvin Snell (39) was the key one in the total of 219-9 in their 50 overs.
Well that was quite a weekend!!!
Many thanks to everyone who came down over the three days, it was great to see such support for all the events that were put on and some fantastic cricket played.
Special thanks goes to the army of volunteers who made it happen.
