Everything I did and experienced in my youth, Siga, was part of it. Following the 1976 uprisings, we left South Africa days apart, he, through Lesotho with some of our friends, and I, through Swaziland, also with some of our friends.

Growing up in Rockville, we went to the same schools from primary at Ndondo and Sekano Ntoane High School in Soweto. In between, he was sent by his grandfather to Adams College in KZN, but he returned after a year to continue at Sekano.
