This is critical work. Not only is failure to catch lung cancer early costly to individual people - it can also be costly to society. We need to figure out pathways forward to identify and screen those people who are high risk for lung cancer.
In Hong Kong, LC accounts for 26.4% of cancer deaths, but nearly 1/2 of those with LC never smoke. Loong et al. conducted a cost-effectiveness analysis to perform LDCT screening for high-risk individuals ID'd through criteria beyond smoking. Read more:
