(Btw, none of you will like it. It’s basically the same “Oh no, it’s a fascist takeover!” narrative that the more fanciful bits of the left are running about Farage at the moment. But from 1970. Spooks did something very similar at the start of Series 5.

Have discovered the Alas, Vine and Hitchens podcast (Sarah Vine, the lesser evil). It’s like listening in on parallel universe where my parents were right-wing instead of left-. Cosy, though, if you ever miss having your folks chuntering on around the place.

Assuming complete honesty on the part of the poster (which I do), I find this mirror image of “our side of things” completely fascinating.
It’s fairly obvious why @BBCBreakfast is keen to keep showing images of violence at Manchester Airport and in restaurants. They want to give the impression that the UK is lawless to keep Farage happy. These are very isolated incidents. #bbcbreakfast

Over the next week I shall be showcasing pictures in my current exhibition in Warsaw. This is "Birch Panorama (i.m. 1944)" (2025), oil on canvas board, 20.3 x 50.8 cm. In Poland the silver birch is considered a national symbol. In the countryside, birch crosses are common

Watched that “Civil War” last night. Not a good film by any stretch (swaps out any/all detail about the war for a neophyte-replaces-her-heroine story about war photographers, thereby removing everything you want to know). Despite this, the last 20 minutes are fun.

“These scenes are the government's worst nightmare.” Or: were the plan all along. You decide, dear reader, and don’t go to any “organic” protests yourself.
These scenes are the government's worst nightmare. After Epping, the last thing they wanted was for protests and clashes to spread across the country. This demonstration was organised informally on Facebook yesterday but has attracted hundreds, including counter-protestors.

Confused about who to support in the Thailand - Cambodia War? Many are already calling it ‘The Most High IQ War of the 21st Century’ in which “all currents of 21st Century thought clash on a literal battlefield of a battlefield of ideas”. Here a guide to which country has
JUST IN - Martial law officially declared in parts of Thailand over hot military conflict with Cambodia.

If it weren't real, it'd be some kind of avant-garde art - Dadaism or summat.

England, and later the U.K., clearly has a moral and institutional foundation that is unthinkable without Christianity. 100%. But the ‘Judeo-Christian tradition’ feels like right wing LARPing meets Atlanticist foreign policy NGO. It’s okay to just say ‘Christian’.
England, and the United Kingdom, are built upon and in the Judeo-Christian tradition. We should treasure that inheritance. A magnificent speech from @danny__kruger

As Northrop Frye teaches us, tragedy is an "it's so over" genre, while comedy expresses the "we're so back" ethos of spring fertility rituals
