During this year's 4th of July celebrations in Washington, D.C., there was a VMI alumnus among the pilots who performed the military flyover! U.S. Air Force Capt. John "Jack" Bove '19 flew one of the F-35 aircrafts.

“I give back to VMI because VMI gave to me.” That’s how Gale Sommers ’72 explains his reason for supporting the Institute. Now retired, Sommers is thankful that the Institute prepared him exceptionally well for a career he’d never anticipated.

Gary R. Kaylor ’62 will soon do something most do at a much younger age: Retire from athletic competition. In late July, he will participate in the National Senior Games in Des Moines, Iowa, where he will play in his final formal basketball game.

It's #NationalMascotDay and we just happened to get a visit from a former Moe in Moody Hall! Rocky Glass '76 donned the costume of everyone's favorite Keydet during his time in barracks. He even took us on a stroll down memory lane and found a few photos of himself in the Bomb.

Last summer, a new exhibit opened at the VMI Museum honoring Lt. Benjamin Kearfott ’43, who died on D-Day, June 6, 1944, only a year after graduating from the Institute. Read more about the series of VMI connections that made the exhibit a reality.
