Incredible news! Deepfake porn, a form of image-based sexual abuse, can have devastating impacts on the victims who are lefte with very little recourse. Holding platforms accountablel and making it easy to remove the content should be 1st priority.

Thank you for having me! TikTok has been so helpful in destigmatizing ADHD and getting people to think about their own experiences. At the same time, the quick, funny, relatable content that does best on TikTok might lack nuance that is needed when discussing mental health.

In my research at @UBCPsych, we found that most people have a pretty good idea of how to respond to online bullying: block, say something, unlike a comment, and report. Yet, most didn't think it was their place to do anything. But if everyone thinks that way, then no one helps!.

Qual studies are so much more fun to read than quant, no one can convince me otherwise. This is a focus group study with adults w ADHD who apparently could not stop talking about TV shows and the Windows 7 OS for some reason.

We found that it's pretty common (>80% had complied at least once) and mostly to please their partner or because they felt pressured to sext. Regardless of the reason, it's still not consensual & we need to expand our conversation on consent to include online sexual encounters

For the conference, I had a brief communications presentation talking about our research on sexting compliance and the reasons why young adults may engage with it.

It was so much fun learning and playing in Berlin for the past week for #IASR2024. It was a joy hearing about all the research and meeting so many cool people!. This has quickly become my favourite conference and I can't wait to see everyone again next year in Portland, Maine!
