Fairly quiet at #RSPBLodmoor, but had good chat with a friend. Gr8 to see Bearded Tits, as I was on my way out. Plenty of Gr8 White Egrets, some Blackwits, Dunlin, Common Sandpiper, Kingfisher, Redshanks, Gulls & a single Common Tern. I.D on the gull with the black bill please?

One last Beaver kit video (for the time being)! Out last night and I had some really good views of a pair of kits. Keep the sound up - the gnawing sound is what I often use to locate the animals. Hear them before seeing them. Noisy eaters. π.#DevonBeavers

Here's a short video of an adult Beaver on the River Otter - just in case you want to see one. It's chewing, because that's what they do. most of the time. even when swimming.π#UKMammals

I'm afraid that I don't find adult Beavers particularly charismatic (they chew, they groom, they swim). Sorry! But I do love the #Beaverkits and may well post more videos (even if they're blurry cos it was dark). π#DevonWildlifeTrust #RiverOtter

I'm rubbish. I went to the #RiverOtter again this eve, intending to try & re-find the Black-Crowned Night Heron. Instead I got side-tracked watching a Beaver Mum & kits. Oh dear! Also Kingfisher, Buzzard, Tawny etc. @DevonWildlife

The 'tween time is my favourite time of day. When the night is receding & the day is full of promise. Spent that time on the River Otter today & was amply rewarded. Bats still flying, birds just getting going. Magic! Beavers, Night herons, Goosanders, Geese etc @DevonWildlife

I've had a brilliant morn. Sat on bank of River Otter from 4.30am. Beavers, Goosander, Kingfisher, Green Woodie etc then, as walking back to car 6.30am. I found a #BlackCrownedNightHeron!! Excited. ππ @DevonWildlife @BirdGuides
