Today, I announced that I’m running for re-election. Charlotte is a city of opportunity, and I’m proud of the progress we’ve made together. But, there is still work to do - and I’m ready to keep doing it.

Lynn Wheeler believed in her party and her city. She put residents first and politics second. She would build relationships ahead of difficult votes, most notably the arena relocation to Uptown. She was always prepared. Always for Charlotte. We send our condolences to her family.

Thank you, Charlotte, for the chance to continue on in November’s General Election after we were able to secure over 85 percent of the vote in yesterday’s Democratic primary. See you at the polls this fall as we continue the journey to make Charlotte a more equitable city.

I’m so excited to be endorsed again by @emilyslist. EMILYs List believes the most courageous thing you can do is put your name on the ballot, and they actively work to increase the number of women at every level of government. Thank you for endorsing me.

It's Friday, and we are 25 stories up at the @Lowes Tech Hub with the @PotionsPixels ArtCade! Our Executive Director @MichaelZytkow suggested a picture of the beautiful #Charlotte skyline, but @Marcel_Solomon (Community Relations Manager at Lowe's) had something bigger in mind!

Yesterday's #SCOTUS decision was a personal one for me! As someone who grew up in South Carolina, my family witnessed the long-standing segregation in our schools even after the Brown decision. My parents fought hard to provide us with an education, but they couldn't (1/3)

We've seen it in North Carolina and around the country. Republicans are unified in their attacks on women's health. If you're angry about this, your voice and your actions can make a difference, now and at the ballot box. https://t.co/LmrOviHbaX

In May, when North Carolina Republicans, armed with a new one vote supermajority, released a bill to ban abortion, we knew that we were in for an uphill battle.

As we mourn his loss, I also want to extend my condolences to his wife and family. While we lost an incredible political strategist, Reyna lost her best friend and partner. I am thinking of her and keeping all of Conen’s family in my prayers. We’ll miss you, my friend. (2/2)
