Key findings:.Protected areas (PA) in borderlands of Asian countries:.1. are larger near borders compared to those further away.2. are closer to PAs across the border.3. have lower levels of habitat loss .These factors could facilitate transboundary conservation opportunities.

We found that Africa has at least 27 existing TBCAs and 8,481 combinations of potential TBCAs comprising 2,326 individual protected areas. Existing TBCA list is in the supplement . 7/n.
