A short 🧵on why I’m so bullish art/humanities. 1/ I’m not a big gamer, but bought a quest in 2020 just to see what VR was all about. It was after playing Vader I realized that this was simultaneously basic & incredible. I mean, fighting Vader with a lightsaber - so cool!

3/4 In my work I decided to remedy this. I create paintings at once in 3d app (Substanse Designer & Substance Painter). My paintings have the texture of a natural painting, it reflects light like a physical painting.

2/4 In the physical world when you look at the picture we can admire the brush strokes. How layers overlap, how paint glitters in the reflection of lightness. But when we transfer our painting to digital space, we alas lose that and only observe a flat picture.
