Well, that was awkward. Anyway, I've updated Direct Controls to fix the cheat box bug reported by our great
@SacrificialMods
and it should be working now. I highly recommend that everyone redownload the mod to get the new update.

pointed out, there may be some incompatibilities with Direct Controls in the new patch after all. I'll do my best to fix this as soon as possible. 🛠️

Oh wow. I'll look into UI Cheats Extension. If it turns out to be a conflict, I'll definitely see what I can do to fix that. Maybe even contact the creator to see what we can do together. Thanks for pointing this out!

Just now had the time to test the new update with Direct Controls. I believe it did break the automatic traversal system, but everything else seems to be fine. I'll be working to fix this right away! ⚒️

I'm planning to release some fixes tomorrow for DC's first person controls. I think I went a bit too far with the camera locking on v1.0.1. I'll make that forward snapping much more customizable and less intrusive. 🙂

It is, yeah! It's a mod that gives you some insight on what your Sims are talking about and often lets you choose what your Sim will say, which may affect their relationship positively or negatively. There are also some suprising things that may happen which I won't spoil here!

The dialog is actually procedurally generated. It takes the Sim's biography and interprets it, converting it to first person to make it look like the Sim is talking about themselves. The typo is a flaw in the system trying to turn "He comes" into "I come".

It would be difficult to replicate this on TS4 since the game doesn't have unique biographies for each Sim. It only has household descriptions.

Thanks! It was written in C#. I do not have access to the engine. I did however take a lot of time to study how the game uses it's engine. I am a game developer after all, so I kinda know my way around some limitations. 🙂

I think the Third Person Mod for TS3 is actually in pretty good shape right now. So I'm working on getting this one to that same level. I may still add some features to TS3's version in the future. It's just not my priority right now. I'm glad you liked it though. 🙂

Nice video! It's safe to say that the camera in this game really doesn't like to be messed with. And that dog in the end, I did not expect that at all! 😅

There's a self-interaction to open up the options menu. Click on your active Sim and go VictorAndrade -> Direct Controls. Alternatively, you can type "dc.settings" in the cheats console.

I actually should've made this a bit clearer, but first person controls are directional-based, not camera-based. W+A/D will turn your Sim into the direction you want, and they will follow that direction if you press W. They won't follow the direction the camera is looking at.

Try disabling camera lock in the mod settings ("dc.settings" command). It may improve a bit on the camera problem. 🙂

Which loading screen is it stuck in? Is it the one before the main menu, the one before entering the world or the one before actually playing? Also, do you have any other mods installed?

While in third person, W is supposed to go where you point the camera. There is a bit of a delay here, as the game doesn't update the camera position while you're moving the camera. So make sure you let it stand still for a bit before attempting to move your Sim in third person.
