Caught this Southern Pacific rattlesnake in our gutter pipe. Turned him loose in the hills. Crotalid venom is a mixture of over 50 different identified proteins and macromolecules and has fibrinolytic and protein C activation effects causing coagulopathy.

Today, the world lost an amazing young man. Lucas van Wormer, just 19 years old. He battled pulmonary hypertension from age 4. His loving amazing parents, Steve and Marina, were at his side every minute. Lucas, you were an inspiration to everyone! #pulmhtn

“Joe Biden suffered hairline fractures in his right foot and will wear an orthopedic boot, Biden's team said Sunday.” In theory, he should be at fairly low risk for VTE. But age + fx / boot is a risk. But... we have all seen these.... Hope he keeps moving!
