My favourite parts of @ChemEd2023: Awesome demos, coding training, passionate colleagues, periodic table lanyards, 3D printed spectrometer models, and meeting @SteveSpangler! We are equipped with more tools to make the student experience @TABTigerLife even better!

Although we don’t do this for the gift cards, it was nice to once again experience tangible thank-you cards as opposed to emails.

While difficult at first, my first year back in the classroom (after 2 years of virtual) was a success. Let’s review the year of experiences in grade 12 chemistry and grade 10 science at Thomas A Blakelock @TABTigerLife (a thread).

Building connections and relationships can be challenging in a virtual school. However, with care, respect, passion, and enthusiasm, @HDSB_VSS makes it work! As the old saying goes, the proof is in the Jalebi! Thank you to my chemistry student for the sweet treat!

So great to have a former VSS chemistry student visit and mentor current grade 12 chemistry students @HDSB_VSS about university life and programs! Many questions asked, many answers received, many students inspired and motivated!

Students guessed “ionization energy” but almost lost on “hydrogen”. Custom wordles are such a fun way to review concepts! However, be careful, because before you know it, the period is almost over! Try this chemistry related wordle: https://t.co/4P4h64PHKN

Life in plastic is fantastic…unless you mean microplastics! Thank you @HermabessiereL and @UofTTrashTeam for educating chemistry students @HDSB_VSS about microplastics, research, real world applications, and career pathways.
