I've recently learned that "weird" and "weirdo" are not the same level of slur outside of California as it is within the state. "Weirdo" is understood to be fighting words.
If you are from outside of California, and you've observed how people from California speak, please describe it below. (Please do not describe a Valley Girl accent or a surfer accent.) Give me your most nuanced observations (prosody, a turn of phrase, speed etc).
