When I changed the version of Jamal from 2.5.0 to 2.5.1-SNAPSHOT and ran the build, 80 documentation and configuration files were changed depending on the actual version number. Imagine when you have to maintain that manually. And that is only one example.

Jamal 2.5.0 was released and is available from @Maven central and on GitHub. This release delivers many minor fine tunings in macro behaviors requested by users, a few new macros, and a configuration to start Jamal using docker if you do not want to have @java installed.

I wrote an article about some events and some learnings from 2006. I dedicate this article to the memory of Laszló Fekete, T-Mobile, who was part of the story, and who was exactly my age when he died five years ago.

I created Jamal as a 300 line Perl script 26 years ago. I thought I can recreate it in Java in a few days. Five years since, and it is still evolving. It became a thing.

I asked ChatGPT to translate a text to Aramaic. It did. Then I asked to translate it back to English, copying the weird characters. And it did. Then I started a new chat, meaning no context, and I asked again to translate it back. Liar!.

I just asked @bionicreading to permit me to have a macro in Jamal that can convert your text for easier reading. We will see. I can see some FOS projects that implemented the algorithm.
