Japan is already making 1 billion stories set in western medieval fantasy or in china. I dont see whats the problem with wanting anime in other, less explored regions of the world. It's not for diversity, but i want it because it can make for novel and interesting stories.
the "i want more anime set outside japan" mindset needs to be studied. cause all that tells me is that these people want the illusion of cultural diversity without actually indulging in art that is made in other countries
