The seasonal surface mass balance maps capture the anomalous summer accumulation over debris-covered glaciers in the Everest area in Nepal and underscore the importance of avalanches for mass input to low-elevation debris-covered glaciers! Code here: https://t.co/w6ILWlLcge (3/3)

The Lagrangian surface mass balance maps provide enough detail to study ablation over individual ice cliffs: For the six study glaciers in Nepal, ice cliff ablation can explain ~40% of the total melt, even though they occupy less than 11% of the total debris-covered area! (2/3)
