So HOOS going to be our new Residency Program Director? Our amazing APD Dr. Nora Kern is stepping into the role! We're thankful for Dr. Smith's leadership and guidance, and we're equally thankful for Dr. Kern and excited for her vision for our program!

Those of you who saw yesterday's announcement about our new APD might be wondering... where is the CURRENT APD going? After many years of dedicated service to our residency program, Dr. Ryan Smith will be stepping down next year. (Don't worry, he's not leaving UVA!)

That's right! The incredible @MTuongMD is going to be our new residency APD! There's a second part to this announcement... but you'll have to check back tomorrow for the rest!

We're feeling especially thankful today, because we have GREAT news that we can finally share with the world! Dr. Kern coordinated a special cupcake reveal of our new residency APD... can you guess who it is? Our residents found out in the video below!

Next week, we're delighted to welcome Dr. John Schorling of @UvaDOM and the UVA Mindfulness Center as our featured speaker at Grand Rounds. Dr. Schorling's topic is titled "Using Mindfulness to Cope with Bad Patient Outcomes."

Exciting news from our pediatric urology team! Susie Leroy, PNP, will present at @Centra Lynchburg Family Medicine's Grand Rounds, along with UVA's Katherine Henderson, PT/OT. Their topic is "Toilet Training: Common Issues and How We Can Help."

Congratulations to our Dr. Jackie Zillioux on two big recent accomplishments! She is now subspecialty board-certified in URPS, and she's celebrating the release of a book she co-edited on that very topic. We're proud of you, Dr. Zillioux!

Dr. Smith snapped two fantastic photos of our recent andrology fellow Dr. Cassandra Lyons at @asrm_org's scientific congress! Dr. Lyons presented findings on the quantification of phosphatidylserine positive (PS+) live sperm in combination w/ conventional semen analysis. 1/2
