It's important to understand technology deeply so you can understand its limitations. Eg: Bigger model != better reasoning. Reasoning introduces latency. Therefore, low latency use-cases (like voice AI) are still capped on reasoning-heavy tasks.

It's easier to build software now, and there's more opportunities to build useful software. It's still hard to build "tasteful" software, and it's still hard to be creative enough to know what software to build.

I vibe-coded a voice AI app that acts as a call center for someone running a services business. It's been running for a month, and it's better than their previous $30k/year call center labor spend. The infrastructure cost last month was $25. AI is definitely taking jobs.

Startup ideas don't matter. But every billion dollar startup had a billion dollar idea that they focused on at some point. Does this idea enable you to learn and be creative to come to that billion dollar idea? Is it a good idea space? That matters.

This might be fine for quick UI iteration, but is pretty bad for backend functionality. I was "vibe coding" for the past few months and now I no longer do plan to do it on the backend unless it's for unit tests.

When you "vibe code" - you don't end up understanding the code that you're writing. This is essentially the same as creating new "legacy code". 1. No one at the organization truly understands how it works.2. No one has an intuition for why certain bugs exist.

I can confirm that Sonar is an incredibly useful model. It's quick, smart, and has access to the current internet so it's not out of date.

Powered by Cerebras inference infrastructure, Sonar delivers answers at blazing fast speeds, achieving a decoding throughput that is nearly 10x times faster than comparable models like Gemini 2.0 Flash.
