Don't even get me started on the huge pay discrepancies between Fujita(Japanese) company and CCCC(Chinese) company. A plant operator in Fujita earned a gross of at least 150k while in CCCC gross was 60k.

During my tenure there, as a project manager/supervisor, A LOT happened. From senseless deaths, to an Indian company (SEKO) bringing non-skilled labor workers from India, impromptu visits from president Uhuru, Kenyan subcontractors trying shortcuts e.t.c
On Dongo Kundu, you can tell the section that was done by Japanese by how smooth it is and the one that was done by the Chinese given how bumpy it is. Funny thing, the Japanese have superior output yet largely subcontract most work to Kenyans.

200 pages in, and the only message I'm getting thus far is "Men are the prize" ???. Also, Chimamanda's books are outrageously irk-ish. In comparative terms, it's like having sex with a church girl, boring during the start, really good at the middle, and then boring at the end.

In the hospital lobby, at least 4 patients have confused me for a doctor, the mere fact that I'm reading a "voluminous" book or as Ali the chai vendor put it the other day, "bonge la jitabu", is not helping my course.

Selling one of these monitors for pennies, need to buy some medicine for the love of my life(mom) hapa. The hospital bills have drained me completely. Both are Dell 24" and barely used. One has been in use for less than a week, and the other for less than a month.

I did follow up with the private insurance, and they gave me the flimsiest of reasons as to why they wouldn't cover the whole amount. NHIF said they only cover the bed charges of UpTo Ksh. 2500 and nothing further.

Back in December of 2021, my sister got admitted at MP Shah, she was under private insurance, total 4 day bill came in at almost 750k, she was under NHIF and private insurance. NHIF paid Ksh 12,500 . Private paid Ksh 200,000. We had to pay Ksh 560,000 from our own pockets.

Spent a better part of yesterday and today morning at SHA offices here in Mombasa trying to understand how they pay less than 5% of total bill for a patient. All I'll say is, buckle up your belts, pay private insurance if you have to, things aren't as they seem to be.
