In Malgis, Northern Kenya, one Acacia tree holds a thousand journeys. Before maps. Before road signs. This lone acacia was the meeting point. Livestock still rest here. Travellers still pause here. Stories still pass under its shade. As the great Isiolo-Marsabit Highway cuts

Wonderful day attending the Nairobi launch of “A Child of Two Worlds: From the Camel Camp to the Carolinas” by @usadano As the back page notes, reading it “feels like sitting across from a wise storyteller… one who has lived through the dust, silence, and storms of the desert,

Beautiful tribute, and sorry for your loss. Yes, only immigrant families can truly understand the power and influence of immigration!
My tribute to my dad, who passed away last month in the UK. He was a proud Indian immigrant *and* a proud British citizen. His life story is one long rebuttal to the nativists, bigots and xenophobes.

Guleid Abdi could be the father of the late Nur Guleid (senior educationist). I was in the same class with his younger brother Mahmoud Guleid Abdi.
@YussufIbra @mohammedhersi @NationAfrica @QulshTM My father has the same name and had tried his hands on butchery business, but I never heard of his presence in Marsabit. I need to find out.

A message from a Kindergarten teacher: After forty years in the classroom, my career ended with one small sentence from a six-year-old: “My dad says people like you don’t matter anymore.” No sneer. No malice. Just quiet honesty — the kind that cuts deeper because it’s

Intriguingly odd that this was your experience/observation. The multi-agency team often located near Mt Ololokwe is perhaps the most courteous security checkpoint I’ve seen on KE roads…and I know that’s saying something.
Drove all the way to the vicinity of Marsabit. Great road. Great drive. A few kilometres from Archer's Post you have this Special AP Anti-terrorism unit...open extorting and harassing Kenyans for bribes. CS @KIPMURKOMEN and PS @ray_omollo please tell these APS to do their work
