Easter Day. Jesus is risen. He is risen indeed! Glad to be leading worship at Priesthill United Reformed Church. Early in the garden with Luke and the women. Do we miss the Lord’s Word sometimes because we are too caught up in other stuff?

On behalf of the @UnitedReformed Church, Revd Clare Downing, the Moderator of General Assembly, has added her endorsement to this letter and its message that there is no justification for the ban on conversion therapy to exclude trans people. #banconversiontherapy
Just delivered this to @BorisJohnson @10DowningStreet for every trans and non-binary person in the UK. Loved by God and loved by us.

The @UnitedReformed Church views conversion therapy as unethical and potentially harmful. No conversion therapy can take place in the name of the URC, and we call on all church members and ministers to refuse to offer or participate in offering conversion therapy in any form.

Just finished reading ‘Young, Woke and Christian’ edited by @VicAnneTurner - excellent, challenging, inspiring, disturbing - but so encouraged to see this collection of writers stepping up to offer some important and much needed words to today’s church. Recommended.

Leading worship today at Granton United Church (Methodist/URC) Edinburgh - reflecting on Luke 4 - Jesus’ Mission Statement - good news to the poor, release for the captive, recovery of sight for the blind, letting the oppressed go free. How do we offer those Kingdom values today?

Just finished reading ‘In Black and White’ by @EssexBarrister - great read though extremely uncomfortable, but a powerful reality of the sad reality of the large presence of racism in our society. We need such folk to do what she is doing and to tell the stories. Recommended read

A good morning at Dunfermline URC celebrating #christtheking If we follow a King like no other, we are called to be a people like no other; loving God with heart, mind, soul and strength, and neighbour as ourselves. #dunfermline #reignofchrist @urcscot @UnitedReformed

Preaching at Helensburgh United Reformed Church today. Christ the King. What kind of King is Jesus? What does it mean to have a Servant King as our model. Pilate certainly struggled to understand that and so (if we’re honest) do we!

Glad to lead worship for Remembrance Sunday at Annan United Reformed Church today. The act of remembrance was appropriately followed by a pause so folk could come on from the town act of remembering. Then we considered how we struggle to be holy, but that we are God’s saints,
