What's everyone doing on the second Thursday of the month from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and the first Tuesday from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m.? (We'll be at our Board of Directors meetings for the URA and the Housing Opportunity Fund.)

The URA offices are closed today and tomorrow for construction work at our building, but we're still accessible by phone or email. Next Thurs. and Fri., we're off for Thanksgiving. The offices are closed, and we'll be back to our usual operations on Mon., Dec. 1

Over 300 new trees were planted at the fully remediated slag heap in Swisshelm Park. All trees cut down to remediate the site were replaced, and we planted a few extra to go above and beyond for our city and our neighbors.

This application round will close on April 30, or when funding is exhausted, whichever comes first. Until then, applications are accepted on a rolling basis. For more information on the grant programs and how to apply, visit the URA website.

The Greater Hill District Neighborhood Reinvestment Fund Advisory Board and the URA are accepting applications for grant programs that support children, youth and education initiatives, workforce development and neighborhood development throughout the Greater Hill District.

The restored Troy Hill Firehouse is a great example of how we can preserve historic neighborhood assets & return them to a productive use. BioInterphase, a Pittsburgh bioengineering firm is now using the space as its office & lab to develop innovative materials and technologies.

25 Meadow St. in Larimer is getting some love thanks to the Local Share Account. The Local Share Account uses funds from gaming revenues around the state to support projects that benefit Pennsylvania. Applications for LSA grants are due November 7.
