The James McCune Smith Scholarships provide funding for Black UK students to undertake PhD study at the University of Glasgow @UofGlasgow.

His PhD will aim to explore the diagnostic and disclosure experiences of autistic people of colour as well as how autism diagnosticians understand “race” in their practice.

Current tests for PA are complex, and improved diagnostic tools are urgently needed. Michelle’s project will explore circular RNAs (circRNAs) in the blood as potential biomarkers for PA.
