Autoimmune Hemolytic Anemia (AIHA) is up to 100x more common in certain dogs than in humans. @umnCVM researchers are capitalizing on this fact, using a canine model to find the genetic & T cell triggers to prevent the disease onset in both species.
profiles-vetmed.umn.edu
A rare autoimmune disease occurs at much higher rates in dogs than in people, making a canine model ideal for studying why the disease happens, and how to prevent it.
