Excited to share my first article for @BBCSport as their football tactics correspondent. I had the pleasure of looking at what Marc Guehi’s strengths are and how he might be utilised for Arne Slot’s side based on pre-season if the move comes to fruition.

All 3 have really strong tools and parts of their game can translate to a settled attacking style in sustained possession but, yeah. Interesting to see all three share that in common, being asked to play together and when the final aim isn't to play in that fashion. One to watch.

Lots of questions about speed of play and how they cope with fewer touches and where they take shots from, if they take the same shots from distance, their confidence and attention not scoring those goals from distance on fewer attempts.

All three of United's attacking signings have been players that have had to shoulder responsibility, in sides that lack the ball for a large % of the game, as the main attacking outlet & scorer for their team. Fascinating dynamic to bring all 3 in when aiming to dominate the ball.

Summarising Dembele’s season as ‘he wasn’t even PSG’s best, he just scored the most’ is so reductive. Couldn’t be further from the truth. Lead the press, excellent off ball, in and out of possession, dropped so deep to build-up and open up passes to the wingers, created chances.
