Two senior citizens were humiliated, made to overpay, falsely accused, and the original ticket still wasn’t refunded. @airindia, this is pathetic customer service. If this is how you treat elderly passengers, something is seriously broken in your system. @itsjayaraj GPRavindraK.

After a few minutes of stress, the same Air India staff said, “Yes, I had received the full payment. But my cashier says it was short, so we’ll sort it internally.”. @airindia.

Just as they cleared security, the Air India counter staff called and accused them of underpaying for the new ticket by ₹5k. Also mentioned that they won't be allowed to board. How does someone get a ₹9k ticket after paying just ₹4k? What kind of math is that? @airindia.

And guess what? The original ticket wasn’t even refunded. So now they’ve paid almost 2.5x for the same flight - all because of a minor issue that even security had no problem with. It didn’t end there. @airindia.

They tried explaining, showed supporting documents -nothing worked. No empathy. No flexibility. Just a flat no. They were left with no choice but to buy a new ticket on the spot - costing them ₹9k, which was 150% of the original ticket price. They paid all cash for the ticket.

Had a horrible experience with @airindia today. My senior citizen parents were harassed over a minor name mismatch on their ticket. Despite valid ID proofs and CRPF clearance, @airindia refused to let them board.
