Our congregation is, for the most part, not musically literate. That means they'll only be singing the melody. So dropping the key made it easier for them to do that. Everyone was able to sing without straining... and I could then push them to project more and more. 3/4

I dropped the key for almost every song we sang. We sing from hymnals, but the scores in there are for four-part harmonies. The melodies tend to be in the soprano part. Soprano is too high for most ladies. Even an octave below that is too high for many men, including myself. 2/4

Finally, I mimicked all my models. What was similar between them all? I had to take that thing and do it myself, over and over. This involves a lot of writing, but these are my drills. 4/5

The next thing I did was identify my models. Notice I said "models", not "model". I didn't want to sound like someone else. So I took care to have more than one artist that I could model that specific skill from. 3/5
