This proposal only applies to GSRs. Generally, UAW is proposing increasing PTO from 12 to 20 days and also adding roll-over to PTO days.

UC is asking for justification where increased time were added to some of the leave provisions. Probably trying to provide cover for when they inevitably reject these increased times.

Our union is proposing adding leave for care of family members, visa/immigration, and travel for conference. There's also proposed increases in time for some of the leave articles.

Most of the main issues in the article remain. UC insisting on limiting number of people in meetings, long timelines for grievances, no accountability for UC not meeting deadlines, arbitration not combined on merits/arbitrability, and probably more.

From what we heard so far, the UC hasnt substantially moved in this proposal. There's been minor agreements on non-substantive and logistical changes (i.e. standing arbitration dates, using emails for grievances, etc).

Just something to note, the UC Bargaining team is made up of labor relations, human resources, and academic personelle employees. Presumably, most are attorneys and they are from each campus. But, they are all committed to screwing us over as much as possible!.

Big parts of the first part of proposals: Increase orientation duration from 30 min -> 1 hour. Add department orientations as a union right. Adding release time for union members to do organizing.
