The inaugural Prof. Dermot Keogh Memorial Series lecture was delivered by Taoiseach Micheál Martin, who studied under Prof. Keogh. Keogh’s final book was also launched, The Irish Revolution: Diplomacy and Reactions 1919–1923, co-edited with Owen McGee and Dr Mervyn O’Driscoll

The Chris Williams Memorial Series on Ireland and Wales 2025, hosted by @UCCHistory, was held on Friday and Saturday last (21-22 November) It began with Dr Hiram Morgan's tribute to Chris that celebrated both his scholarship and collegial disposition (1/14)

Dr Hiram Morgan (UCC) & Dr Jason Harris (UCC) explored Gerald’s reception among early modern audiences Dr Morgan examined how writers such as Hooker, Hanmer, & Boate drew on Gerald, while Dr Harris looked at how later 17th-century authors attacked Gerald’s character (11/14)

Dr Damian Bracken (UCC) & Dr Diarmuid Scully UCC both gave very compelling papers. Dr Bracken looked at how Gerald dealt with the problem of the 'literate barbarian'. Dr Scully considered Gerald's response to Bede, with particular reference to Gerald's 'Topographia' (6/14)
