This used to be 1 tennis court. Looking at pickleball through only a financial perspective, it’s easy to see the growth and popularity. Do you want 1 tennis court with 2-4 players or 4 pb courts with 8-16+ players paying/playing per hour….

For the nearly 8 years that I’ve played pb, I have never once “drilled”.
Last week I drilled for some new shots that within 1 week I’m already seeing some massive improvements on.
To say I’m stoked for the next 3-4 and future months would be a big understatement.

Just talked with someone very involved in the pb industry and he said “he believes the sport is becoming more and more of an indoor sport”

Apparently Labor Day is code for go play pickleball. Called 4 different clubs trying to get a court for 2 hours. Not one court available at the time I wanted!

Would it be crazy to think that in 2023 - I think it will be possible for one or many pb players to make over 1M in prize money/appearance fees. Excluding endorsements.
Though this pales in comparison to major sports like NBA, NFL, it’s exciting to see this happen.

Personally, love playing indoors. Tons of advantages over playing outside. If they can get right the exposure inside with lighting, colors, setup, I think it’s much more appealing than outdoors.
No need to worry about sun, shadows, wind, temperature, etc.

The key to hitting a successful 3rd shot drive is not the power the ball is hit with but rather the height over the net.
Height over net > power or location
Most successful 3rd shot drives are 0-4 inches over the net. If it’s any higher, opponents will win the point.

Last week at PPA tournament in AZ, we saw numerous amount of upsets and incredible matches.
I had one specific match that went 3 games and lasted over 90mins.
Got me thinking, with rally scoring, these types of matches wouldn’t be possible.

With the new rule change of essentially no more incorrect server/receiver/position faults taking effect, my opinion is that this should not happen especially at the pro level.
We are pros, we should know the game and rules, if we don’t, we should be penalized.

Someone needs to make a jumbo pickle ball like they do in tennis. Would be way more easy for fans to get signatures and something that could be used as a fun prop at tournaments.

Played this morning. Played against a team that many have considered the lowest ranked team, and also played against a mid tier team.
We won one game by 2 points and lost the other by 2 points.

best travel hack I’ve found is to have double of everything essential.
Have an extra bag with toothpaste, soap, deodorant, phone chargers etc. That way when you simply can leave your main items at home uninterrupted and you’re traveling items in a separate bag.

I’ve seen so much conflicting info regarding the new Vulcan ball.
This I can tell you.
-it is softer than a Dura, causing longer rallies and more firefights..on average.
-it will break, but not as quickly as a Dura
-color is neon, which is better for visibility in almost all

While I think players should have liberty to use or not use eye protection, I’m surprised there’s not more discussion on the root cause of the issue…the power paddles create. Right now it’s the Wild West with power paddles have.
