I was also talking to some people who recommended I just not make this character talk at all, which, i don’t know. That feels lazy. If anybody would want to give me feedback, feel free! Id love to hear ur thoughts on how I should go about this

I also was talking to my girlfriend about getting somebody who was not semi-verbal to voice the character. Which, yes I could do, but I very much value when characters share attributes with the person voice acting them. I wouldn’t want their voice to come off as mocking ??

but I also would not want to put any strain on somebody who has difficulty with speaking. I was trying to think of ways to compensate this. I thought maybe it should be a paid role, but I don’t want it to seem like I am exploiting somebody’s disability.

and they are an AAC user. I do want them to have dialogue in these episodes if they were ever to be made. I am big on portraying characters in a healthy way without stereotyping anybody. I thought it would be best if I got somebody who was in fact semi-verbal to voice them,

This is actually a very important question and I’d like people’s opinions on this. I plan on making a short episodic series including this character someday, and something I was wondering about was what I should do in regards of their voice. This character is semi-verbal,

he’s semi-verbal because it physically hurts them to speak. It causes them a lot fatigue and pain. They use a device to help them with communication! When they do speak, it is easier for them to speak in short phrases and words.
