Pam Marum, Labour’s Housing champ, challenged the Lib Dem Council—who've missed their housing targets for the past 5 years—on how building just 500 affordable homes in five years can meet need when over 2,500 households are on the waiting list with 761 in temporary accommodation.

Well, she got an answer, eventually. Of the 88 due by 31 March 2026 only 22 affordable homes were finished by the start of this year. So a month and a bit to finish 66 more to meet an unambitious target. Good luck with that.

Tonight at Richmond upon Thames full council meeting Pam Marum, Twickenham Labour's housing champ, asked how many affordable homes had been completed by the council. The Lib Dem vice chair didn't know and will "get back" to Pam. Deary me.

NEW: We are capping ground rents at £250 a year. This will mean big savings for over 5 million leaseholders. Labour is taking action where others failed.

Pam asked what proportion of London Living Rent and Shared Ownership homes go to residents with household income below £50k. The Lib Dems said they do check but gave no figures. We need answers, not deflections.
