"Passers-by" .After hours of planning and a good stroke of cosmic luck, I present the International Space Station #ISS making a flyby of #Jupiter! You can even see the Galilean moons. Lost for words with how this turned out - I hope you like it just as much as I do! 1/4

Saturn at it's best. Moments of excellent conditions last night allowed for my best image of the planet to date. (L-R) Dione, Rhea, Mimas (hard to see) and Tethys are seen alongside the rings with Tethys casting its shadow onto the cloud tops. Stoked with how this came out!

Jupiter is returning to the morning skies once more - here's my first image of the 2025/6 season. Great conditions low in the sky, though sadly a relatively uneventful face to the planet with no GRS or moons nearby.

Venus this morning under great conditions - my best image to date despite the planet being fairly distant from Earth at the moment. Still hard to believe what's possible from the backyard!. 24" Dobsonian and Uranus-M camera. False colour IR(sG)UV mapped to RGB.

This morning's view of Saturn, neatly flanked by the moons of Tethys, Dione and Rhea. Sensational views at the eyepiece also!

The Moon was looking too good to pass up this morning - here's a close up view of Pythagoras Crater captured at some ~8 meters focal length.

A quick snap of Uranus with the 24in scope low in the sky before twilight. To my surprise, the elusive rings were readily visible in just 15 minutes of exposure, and far surpasses anything I've achieved with my other 16in scope - the power of aperture showing its face once again

Last night's distant view of Neptune and Triton. Good conditions with the 24in scope at ~10m focal length.

Last night's snap of Saturn through a break in the clouds. The moon of Tethys can be seen in transit across the northern (bottom) hemisphere here. Reasonably good conditions from inside the calm 'eye' of a low pressure system currently over the UK.

And here's the second flyover, taking place just a few minutes after midnight. SpaceX Crew-10 at top.

The Space Station last night as it flew overhead, tracked with my 16" telescope. The dual dragons are visible, with Crew-10 partially occulting Axiom-4 from this angle. See the thread below for a timelapse, showing the Sun glinting off the left iROSA panel.

The @Space_Station last night, hand-guided as it flew over the UK at 23:30 local time. The dual Dragons of Axiom-4 and Crew-10 are prominent at the aft end of the station. 24” scope at 7000mm f/11.7.

Ok so turns out it is indeed flying in a different orientation. It was changed ahead of Progress 90P undocking. Neat.

Video is played forward, as the station flies from West to East. Dragons appear to be facing west here.

The ISS this evening, hand-guided with the big scope. What’s interesting is the station appears to be flying in reverse, or at least 180 degrees to the norm. The dragons appear to be on the aft side? Didn’t see any announcement of this, unless I’m totally mistaken.
