My take as someone who has worked in VA and directing. The issue isn't that the voice changes. It's that the 2 voices don't sound like they come from one person. If the new voice was a slightly higher version of the deep one, the issues stop. Because you can still tell it's him

This line in FF9 is now my worst enemy. And I want the world to know this! This line CHANGES based on not only who you pick to bring with you, but ALSO what position they're in! So yes, we have to voice AND code this line around 200(?) different ways! I love you FF9.. but.. 🤬
