Web pages may not be long for this world anyway, I guess, except as sustenance for AIs. RIP. (so long, and thanks for all the fish).

I'll see if I can re-post everything somewhere else (and then work on related SEO, so that these things can be found and accessed again). Until then, it'll just be what's available in the Internet Archive.

While admittedly niche, long tail stuff, one post (worst practice in ICT use in education) had over a million reads; in its prime, this blog "exploring the use of information and communication technologies to benefit education in developing countries" got about 30k reads a week.

This was (and remains) an undercovered topic. When people searched for all sorts of edtech-related stuff, individual blog posts came up very highly -- many times because a post was the only source of information on a specific topic.

Personal pride aside, I think this is a real shame. For better or worse, these 250+ essays/posts represent a pretty unique documentation of the growth of the use of educational technologies around the world outside of the 'rich' countries of Europe, North America and Asia.

Thanks to the people who alerted me to this: The World Bank EduTech blog ( does indeed appear to have been deleted, including all individual posts/essays and seven annual compendia, from the World Bank web site.

The Twitter account that I opened 15 years ago for the World Bank's #edtech program, @WBedutech, has now been closed; the archive will remain. Thanks to the 18k+ subscribers with whom we interacted over the years. Follow @WBG_Education for news on the World Bank's edtech work.
