Pilgrimage Fest was great this year. Kings of Leon was far and away the best act that I saw. It was a complete show and the visuals were particularly stunning. Sam Fender was also very good, I’d see him again. Not my fav JM show but that’s just bc his acoustic tour was 🤯

That feeling is one I’ve been wrestling with. I wrote a little bit more about that, and ‘Conventional Wisdom’ https://t.co/9qkiTs5Kif

I read two books. One was from an author that puts out several books a year, and the other from an author that puts out one book every decade. The main difference between the two is that one I still remember and think of often, and the other I’ve never thought about again.

something i think about a lot: when the Wright brothers flew successfully for the first time in 1903, nobody believed them for almost 5 years.

Maybe some of us would score higher on a natural aptitude test of creativity, but I think we all have the ability to grow the muscle. Anyway, it’s just something I’ve been thinking about. We need your creativity. The world would look so bland w/o it.

I think certain things about society shake it out of us, tamp it down. But i think it’s inside everybody, and i always try and encourage people to let it out. I try and inspire bc I think we need it, now more than ever.

I write a lot about the creative process. I think being creative is the closest thing to magic we’ve got, and to me, it is reflective of the miracle of life itself. A lot of people tell me they’re not creative. I don’t think that’s true.

I think 1:30PM is the perfect flight time. You still get your morning at home, and you’ve got plenty of time at your new destination for an activity. You can have a coffee or a beer on the flight, it’s wide open. World is your oyster.

But here’s the truth: The tools aren’t the threat. Losing your voice is. AI can replicate your style. It can’t carry your scars, your memories, your wonder. That’s where the soul lives. That’s where art begins.

Creating for no outcome is radically different than scrolling for no outcome. One invites exploration. The other just depletes you. Now throw AI into the mix—and it starts to feel like a hopeless time to be an artist.

To scroll social media for 10 minutes is to experience: •A comedy skit •An intense news story •An unsolved murder •A new song •A cat snuggling with a goat Not an exaggeration. Just my morning.

I would love all my fellow ACM voters to consider @MuscadineBLine for Duo of the Year. They are completely independent. They are consistent. They are loyal to their fans. Its a tough category, but they've built something special without the machine and it needs to be recognized.
