The solution isn't iterating on broken systems. We need new infrastructure: decentralized compute networks, scientific DAOs testing novel incentive structures, and bridge programs helping researchers transition from institutions. All built for an AI-first research world. 8/8

the limitations to scientific progress are not epistemic. the low hanging fruit has not been picked. stagnation is a function of perverse institutional incentives and hyper-bureaucratization. we need deinstitutionalization + new institutions.

In biomedicine, we try to understand the ocean by building better microscopes to study individual water molecules. Stagnation hides behind a superficial facade of progress. We need better explanations, more integrated theories, and less reductionist approaches.

We ended with a richly engaging panel involving all speakers, and followed up with a 3-hour salon with over 25 participants. We see these engagements as representing early steps toward a future where cognitive technologies bolster rather than diminish human sovereignty.
