i wonder if similarly to how pochita created a world for denji, yoru's last words to asa somehow created this world for asa too. bc if u think about it, in this world, there's a chance asa could live like this finally.

asa and yoru's personal feelings for each other is irrelevant to their end. pochita LOVED denji more than anyone ever loved him and he still had to go. yoru is a being much more powerful than asa's mundane life. that in itself means she can't be by her side.

what about the love? can consideration be learned? asa's anger? but with this ending, i think im thinking of this differently (and i might have been looking at it wrong).

not having an answer to "how would yoru and asa end?" is what im most dissatisfied by the ending especially because i dont know what i want exactly. merging? parting forever? yoru dying? and whenever i think about this, i always pull from what i think of their dynamic emotionally
finally addressing the asayoru thoughts with oomfs and feeling like im getting hit by bullets from all directions... they are so important to me man

yup❗️Im gonna talk about Asa bc shes my fav, duh. All my previous questions and thoughts as I read CSM PART 2, is Asa ever gonna have a training arc?, will Asa ever take part in this fight?, will she ever make a strong weapon made out of guilt? BUT why is that needed.
This convo and what Fumiko and Barem each say is indicative of how people consume this kind of media Some see the character, they acknowledge the child under the action and the toll it takes Some see the epic fights and hype moments and wanna keep the ride going

mhm, Asa had this greater epiphany that she can better herself AND it was possible for her to be friends with a devil without her ever being the MC (or taking part of the hero’s journey). Those two things were established in her first introduction.
The more i think about this the more i believe i cooked here Everything Asa went through in Part 2 leading her to the same conclusion she herself made in Ch98 is like Fujimoto telling us that suffering more wont lead to a grander epiphany More pain ≠ More Growth

+ shouldn’t carry. And that guilt, that painful journey she’s going through in Part 2 does not mean she’ll get a great epiphany, it will only set her back.

Shonen fans acting like they’re oppressed because chainsaw man fans can be massive cornballs is so fucking funny man have some self awareness.
Im so glad we're appreciating Shonen again bc a certain fanbase acted like the word shonen or battle shonen was a slur battle shonen isnt just hype moments and aura its storytelling thru combat, fist and ideals clashing in tandem and its so much fun

In short, i think Fujimoto is saying “You do not need to be the most special person in the world to achieve your dreams, just be you, you’re better off this way, dreaming”

Even Asa’s conclusion supports this. Meeting Yoru, being a famous hero, all led to her conclusion in ch 229 that she already made in 98. Becoming an MC only postponed her healing. She didnt need to be an MC to heal, she was ready to do it herself before being tripped.

Fujimoto is also exposing the unfairness this trope would actually be were it to happen to a real child. No kid that age should be that important and have that much pressure put onto them. They will be taken hurt, advantage of, abused and fail.
