People will be involved buying and selling in markets their whole life and then ask who is making the market. Well, you, along with suppliers, end users, brokers, etc. the markets job is to figure it all out amongst everyone using price and time.

Maybe I’m figuring off somewhere but if my neighbors just want hamburger and some roasts and I sell them a fed cow at $1.80 then after it’s all said and done on a 1500# live weight the hamburger will cost $7.53/#. Or exactly what it costs at the grocery store. $1.45/# processing

China is probably as reliant on oil from straight of Hormuz as anyone but I haven’t really seen any analysis about that or what China thinks. They probably won’t post on social media about it like some.

Nearing in on q1 and the early themes I loved, global ex-US value stocks and EM local ccy debt, have suffered from dollar and oil gains, but investments like Canadian oil, rails and Berkshire have stabilized things. Watching homebuilder NVR which I always watch for at 40-50% off.

Was trying to drive my wife to dentist 65 miles away for emergency tooth problem in the midst of a southeast colorado winter hurricane.

Selling fat cattle the last two weeks now has felt like trying to finish a long race where you just trying to keep your legs working and not trip and fall down. I’ve owned some of these cattle well over a year now and am feeling like I’m very ready to get off the ride for a bit.

When you buy cattle for a specific feeding system and marketing grid and then those cattle hit it out of the ballpark. Hey, my grandpa always said sometimes you got to brag on yourself cause no one else is going to.

Trump admin again with the concept that everything must be cheaper except stocks and real estate. But the market doesn’t always cooperate with that so they will pursue more and more complex answers to the market. I think that’s a growing overall risk. It’s hard to outsmart market
