🚀 Looking ahead, sectors like Auto-tech, Proptech, and Climate Tech are attracting more attention, with venture debt gaining traction as an alternative to equity funding. Investors are diversifying, and the opportunities are growing.

⚠️ Despite record funding, gender inequality persists. Startups with female CEOs raised just 1.5% of the total funds in H1 2025. The percentage for startups with a female co-founder is slightly better at 9%. This is a challenge we can’t ignore.

🌍 The Big Four (South Africa, Egypt, Kenya, Nigeria) still attract the lion’s share of funding, with 78% of total investments. But Senegal emerged as a surprise with $148M, marking an exciting trend for countries outside the usual powerhouses. Could this be the start of a shift?.

🔥 Where the Money Went.Fintech remains dominant, pulling in $640M (45%) of the total funding. But there’s a growing interest in Climate Tech, which secured $300M (21%). Sectors like Energy & Water and Healthtech also showed strong investor interest. The future looks green 🌱!.

💰 $1.4B raised in H1 2025.A large portion of this funding came from equity deals, making up 67% of total funding. But venture debt is rising fast, accounting for 28% of the total — signaling a shift in how startups are managing their capital.
