This one simple rule made me over 6-figures:

Yes, I broke my own rules. I sat through a drawdown nearing –$117K. And held past my safety line… twice. But I’ve traded this setup for 10 years. If you’re new, don't bend rules. If you’re seasoned, sometimes you follow your gut.

Lesson #1: Less is more. I used to trade 50–70 times a year. But last year… Less than 20. And I only focused on 2 instruments: platinum and crude oil. Simplifying everything made my trading way more consistent.

I treated my watchlist like dating: You can’t build real trust juggling 10 relationships. Trading’s the same. Pick a few, get to know them deeply. That’s when things click. Here’s why:

Lesson #2: Set bigger goals. I thought doubling last year’s profits would be hard. But I hit it early… With less than 20 trades. And after taking 2 months off. That’s when I realized my goal was too small.

If your goals feel “reasonable,” you’re playing it safe. Growth happens when you’re uncomfortable. So next year, I’m setting goals that scare me even more. Delusional goals create a different level of focus.

Lesson #3: When it clicks, it clicks. This year, trading became second nature. I didn’t hesitate and I didn’t force setups. I just trusted the system, and it worked.
