i really don't know what else to say. i don't doubt that you care about these issues. you can't fix everything, no one can. this year has been a whole lot for all of us. but it's also brought many of us together. i hope you understand why we're hurt by this. i wish you would join

to make a joke out of your silence on tangible suffering then revert back to "i'm a mental health advocate though and asking me to tweet just like i am doing right now but not about my own issues is too heavy for me" is a slap in the face to everyone like you who's done it anyway

*that* is the point. it's not even putting others first—it's simply considering them. i have to question your intentions when you immediately swerve to the mental health conversation when countless mentally ill people have been protesting and donating, etc. for months.

but we—with nowhere near the power that you have—understand how much just a few posts can do. we see these tragedies, and they're overwhelming, but it doesn't stop us from doing the right thing. it doesn't stop us from taking a stand. imagine what your stand could mean.

to @tylerrjoseph, from the heart. please take care of yourself. we understand what you're saying. we understand what you're going through and have gone through. many of your fans including myself have dealt with intense mental anguish—your music has helped when it comes to that.

And all that is asked of you is your time. Time spent using the platform you were blessed with to make real change. You still have that time. Instead of making god awful jokes, you could make change. Why haven’t you chosen the latter? Whose side are you on?

When it stresses you out, you can turn the other cheek and you aren’t affected. You can get together with your family, and take your baby on a private jet, and post about that instead while hundreds of families are losing their loved ones and can’t even attend their funerals.

—petitions, bail funds, charities, personal fundraisers, important information, politician contacts, I could go on. Instead, today, you decided to joke. Because you can afford it. You can afford to pay zero attention to the tragedies that have plagued this year.

You—a wealthy straight cis white man with a platform that could legitimately bring so much necessary, impactful change. Even if it weren’t genuine, it would be unbelievably simple to just *tweet links* that your fans already send to you on the daily—

—of which only a *percentage* of proceeds goes to live music crew members currently out of work. You are a millionaire, by the way. It’s heavy. It’s all incredibly heavy. You are concerned and so are we. But are you only concerned about yourself?

A lot of them are apart of the very marginalized communities that are under threat right now, and they need you to speak up to even feel the slightest bit comfortable supporting you, your art, and your merchandise—
