According to NBC, which I guess should know, Game 7 was the most watched hockey game ever (which apparently means since 1994). Nearly 9 million viewers, up 11 percent from last season
Pat Maroon on his free agent status: I'd love to be with St. Louis, I'd love to play here again. ... I'm 31 years old, I'm a big guy, I can help someone's locker room for sure and help someone's team and be a big presence in the locker room and a big presence on the ice.
Let me say that again: City SC is the MLS Western Conference champions. First time an MLS expansion team has won a regular-season conference championship
I've been writing all night, so I haven't had time to say much. While Jay Bouwmeester is the quietest guy in the Blues dressing room, what he says may carry more weight than anybody else in there. He's a classy, smart, insightful and gracious guy
The MLS disciplinary committee has rescinded

's Jared Stroud's yellow card from Saturday's game and fined Minnesota's Franco Fragapane for embellishment on the play in question
My dream scenario continues to be Blues and Avs go into last game each needing a point to clinch a spot, and they skate around neutral zone for 60 minutes. Then the OT point determines who gets Vegas, who gets Nashville, and it's world's greatest OT.
When they engrave players' names on the Stanley Cup, they do the captain first, then go in alphabetical order. First two Blues players names on the Cup are Alex Pietrangelo and Jake Allen.
Jensen: “We were in the zoo last week,” he said. “I can not figure out how it’s free. It’s a big zoo, so much bigger than the one we have back home, and that’s not for free.” via

Not to be critical of them, but I have a hard time thinking this Blues team makes it to the Stanley Cup finals with Berglund and Sobotka on the roster.
Not that hockey needs more replays, but if the officials are going to get together and discuss every delay of game penalty, wouldn't it be easier to have someone just look at the replay?
Jay Bouwmeester had an amazing shift late in the second period that lasted 3 minutes, 47 seconds. The Sharks had the Blues hemmed in, and since he was on the left, he couldn't get off on the long change.
Alexander Steen, who may be even more soccer mad than Oskar Sundqvist, is handling the pregame coin toss. When City SC was recruiting Joakim Nilsson to come to MLS, the team got Steen to talk with him about moving to St. Louis
Tornado sirens were a new thing for City SC defender Tomas Totland. He said when he heard them this morning, he thought his building was on fire. "I went outside and it was coming from outside," he said.
MLS expansion draft will be Nov. 11. City can pick 5 players. Free agency starts Nov. 16. College draft is Dec. 21, with City having top pick.

In terms of real time, the Blues went 49 years, 17 days between goals in the Stanley Cup Final. In terms of game time played by Blues, 27 minutes, 44 seconds between Larry Keenan's goal in 1970 and Schenn's today
From the NHL: The Blues are the first team to score two game-tying goals in the final five minutes of regulation when facing elimination. The only other team to do so in any playoff game: Buffalo in Game 1 of the 2006 Conference Semifinals at Ottawa.
Growing up in Los Angeles, if the Dodgers or Angels were on the East Coast, you'd get a baseball doubleheader, with Vin Scully doing one game and Dick Enberg the other. A lot of those nights ended with me in bed and the transistor radio under my pillow
Tampa, Vegas and Pittsburgh have the best records in the NHL over their past 10 games. Each has lost just twice in regulation in that span. Of those six total losses, three have been to the Blues.
Wouldn't it be cool if on the last day the NHL did like the Premier League and started all the games at the same time so no one had the advantage of knowing what other teams had done?
The MLS disciplinary committee found LAFC in violation of the mass confrontation policy in the City game, and it was the 2nd time this season, so the club and coach were fined, as well as Chiellini, Acosta and Sanchez.
Jordan Kyrou will be taking part in fastest skating at the All-Star skills competition. He came in 2nd at the AHL race in 2019 in 13.52, which would have finished 4th in the NHL race that season
From today's session with Bradley Carnell:
Me: Brad, you've said that over the course of the year the referee's calls will balance out ...
Carnell: We're running out of time.
