You can agree with Unai that the club is well ahead of schedule while also acknowledging that today was a disaster. Certain we’ll have more occasions like today as long as he’s manager. And we won’t play that badly in one again. 2 SFs in 2 seasons. Here comes the comeback. UTV.

Tonight was Rocky I. High drama, incredible performances, one for the purists. Next season and beyond are Rocky II, III, IV, V, Villa going mainstream, supersonic, years of dominance, little lull at the end and then a big street brawl. And I for one am excited. Up the Villa.

Don’t understand why that second criteria couldn’t include season ticket holders too.

I can understand lowering ticket prices for FA Cup games. I can’t understand the logic of giving people who paid £25 to attend games on a Friday or Sunday night priority over people who have paid for season tickets. I was watching us finish mid table in the championship.

Don't fall in love with loan players, don't fall in love with loan players, don't fall in love with loan players, don't fall in love with loan players...
What a fantastic feeling to make my debut at Villa Park, even better to do it with a win! Hoping for many more nights like this. On to the next round!💪🏼⚽️ Massive thanks for the support and the warm welcome, Villans!🙏🏼

Anyone know if and how I can transfer my ticket to a different fan ID for tomorrow? Ticket office closed until Monday #avfc @AVFCSupport

Villa’s record of drawing Premier League teams in the 3rd or 4th round is astonishing

For those who are interested, my own football career peaked when I was an unused sub in a cup final at The Lamb with Elford Boys. We lost on penalties. I cried. Good times.

West Ham weren’t good tonight. Even so, at least good to see us dig it out and rise to the occasion, eventually. Now let’s get some bodies in.

Half time terrible. Full time, should’ve been five. Aston Villa, never change.

What I mean by this is that we look vulnerable every time we lose the ball, wherever it is on the pitch. We then look wide open. So keep the ball better, fewer issues.
Torres injury could be huge. Don’t agree with ‘he can’t defend’ stuff and get a bit annoyed by it. Has a big impact on how we get up the pitch. Unai will fix it, more concerned about how weird we look in the final third compared to last season than the defence. Just all feels off

Unai knows how to shut down a game and make a team hard to beat, so clearly a conscious choice not to do that. We’re still really well placed for 2nd half of the season. My guess is he wants us playing a certain way and would rather players get used to it.

Concede early, concede late. The middle bit doesn’t really matter if you keep doing that.

Recent wins have come against teams who have been bang out of form for different reasons. Still a lot to play for this season. Villa look too chaotic, too loose. Not sure how you fix it.

A lot to be annoyed about today. Can't be wide open after losing the ball one minute in. Officiating has been a joke. But we're so careless in possession. Third goal sums it up. So many times we got a free or a goal kick and lost the ball before the camera was back on the game.

Villa really lack something when things are going against us in games. All unravels really quickly. Mitigating circumstances here but it happens a lot.

Ref aside, Villa back to looking wide open again in midfield. Might be the game to sacrifice Rogers. Remember Watkins doing an incredible job when we beat Palace 3-0 with 10 men a few years ago. Could do with that again.
