…a Victorian themed recital at W.S. Gilbert’s old house (of G&S fame). I did some rehearsal piano for a choir for a real life FILM. And rounded off the year at RNCM with a ‘Sondheim by candlelight’ concert 😌 Thanks for reading if you did! 🫶 won’t leave it so long next time ox

Outside of the projects, I did lots and lots of weddings, played for a number of pals final recitals (Elgar Sea Pictures, Larson ‘Try me, good king’, many an aria, many a strauss, tchaik violin concerto 😮💨), did a cooool Hans Zimmer themed concert at Stoller Hall…

Then the BM3 students had a go, this production was made up of many more shorter scenes so there’s too many to mention, a real highlight though was the silly ‘Voici l’omelette’ from Le docteur miracle.

After Urinetown it was opera scenes galore at RNCM. Firstly with the PG students I repped for excerpts from Gloriana, Le Nozze di Figaro, Il Campanello, and Le donne curiose.

I was back in at the Arden school of theatre working with their first year musical theatre students on a mini production of Urinetown, it was great to get back to my roots after a full year of opera and they are an ace year group!

Rather than spam your feeds I thought I’d just do a little update post. It’s been a hectic term full of performances and back to back projects bleeding into each other - I almost can’t believe the amount of rep I covered but it’s been an excellent time!

Things are finally winding down for the summer and I’ve done such a terrible job of keeping on top of my socials in amongst all the business this term. (Except insta, which you should follow if you don’t already!!! @tompieczora)

Have you ever had any fun autocorrect mishaps when putting foreign titles in your diary? One of my opera scenes this term just became Le Nozzle Di Figaro 😵🫣

Absolutely massive play tonight at St. Michaels, Bramhall with Gatley Choir! Someone in the choir provided a CCTV solution so we don’t have to faff with a labrynth of mirrors. Will be paying close attention to the lines to make sure I don’t reverse into the conductor 🤣

Two final playthroughs of La scala di seta today for our piano dress rehearsals 🤩 It’s been a thrilling six weeks in production but I did breathe a sigh of relief after rattling off all those tricky passages for the last time! 😮💨🎶

We had the first (and second) full run of La scala di seta @rncmlive today! Both casts are sounding incredible, I’ve had an absolute riot so far in rehearsals. Definitely come if you can! I’ll be playing fortepiano in the orchestra for the blue cast performances on 19/3 and 23/3
