Buried in the details is this big deal for small businesses. ‘De minimis’ currently allows businesses (including ours!) to sell relatively inexpensive products direct to US consumers with no duty (and saves a whole bunch of faff on both sides)
Duty free "de minimis" shipping is being eliminated from ALL countries as soon as the systems are ready. 🧵

Customers will of course be advised ‘bear with us’
it is absolutely ridiculous that every bookshop in central london is still obliged to carry out "bear drills", in case the bears escape from london zoo. firstly there is no evidence they would particularly target bookshops. secondly the zoo hasn't had any bears since 2008.
