For me not being able to use #Tweetbot is a dealbreaker. The reading experience is way worse on the official Twitter app for many reasons. It sucks because I used to get a lot of updates from things that matter to me from Twitter.

Basically if you were hoping for a miracle, you can stop wasting your time and probably for as long as that narcissistic asshole is steering the ship.

So there’s more clarity today about the demise of third party clients like #Tweetbot and how the #TwitterAPI rules were quietly updated to basically prevent anyone to build a Twitter client. There’s nothing “long-standing”about that by the way.

So the official Twitter app has ads in between every 3 to 5 tweets. From things that I couldn’t care less about. How is that effective?

Really hope this is a temporary outage. If Elon has killed the API, that’s my redline & I’m out. Pretty sure a large chunk of the most active users are in the same boat. This is a CX & quality of life impactful decision for the product, not philosophical.

Twitter’s presence on iOS was initiated by 3rd party app Tweetie which Twitter acquired and rebranded due to lack of first party app on the platform. Pulling the plug in third party apps and alienating at the same time tons of active users feels backwards and disrespectful.
