Ultra-processed “healthy” snacks are still junk. Doritos and Lays aren’t treats, they’re chemistry sets. When was the last time you ate something like this? 👀

This family defined ultra-processed foods and avoided them for a month. The results: a big change for both body and brain. @WSJhealth @FoodieScience

If you want to know how Big Food works, take a look at who created it: Big Tobacco
What’s the connection between Big Tobacco, Big Food, and our obesity epidemic? @morgan_freeman explains:

We have more chronic disease than any country in the world and we know it’s environmentally caused. Genes don’t cause epidemics — they may provide vulnerability, but you need an environmental toxin, and we know it’s primarily the food we’re eating.

If the restrictions on junk foods increased significantly, I would absolutely push for more SNAP benefits. Food is medicine. It will keep kids healthier and improve their futures. Which is great for the future of our country.

Many of the solutions we need exist in other countries. It’s time we bring front-of-package labeling, dye-free recipes, and clearly identifiable “good” choices to America.

American kids don’t lack the willpower to eat healthy – they’re trapped by unhealthy foods that keep them addicted.

Americans are free to eat what they want. But both taxpayer dollars and federal dietary guidelines should support healthy food choices – not ultraprocessed foods and sugary drinks.

This is the organization, @food_fight_usa , I fully support and who has it right when it comes to ultraprocessed and junk foods
@mcuban Mark, do you think this is a good thing? I'm unsure. People in poverty/poor shape in their lives (by their own standards) use food as a coping mechanism. Taking away this, leaves a vacuum they may or may not replace with something worse. Junk food is symptom of the issue.

Cleaning up our tainted food supply will benefit every American. State bills, the FDA targeting GRAS, and companies removing harmful additives will benefit everyone. We all need to work together!

We've not been talking about root causes in healthcare...why do a third of our nation's children now have pre-diabetes or diabetes? We've got to talk about school lunch programs, not just putting every 6-year-old on Ozempic.

They call them “Natural” flavors…but they are anything but! They’re made from hundreds of different substances that may not even resemble the flavor itself. Like using beaver anal gland to make something taste like vanilla. 🦫 And these formulas are top secret, so you don’t know
