If Trump is actually serious about the USA beating China back to the Moon and establishing a long term presence on the surface, he will choose Jared Isaacman as NASA Administrator.

We are in a race against China so we need the best companies to operate at a speed that gets us to the Moon FIRST. SpaceX has the contract to build the HLS which will get U.S. astronauts there on Artemis III. But, competition and innovation are the keys to our dominance in

Elon Musk and Trump are on better terms since their earlier fall out. Elon reportedly recommended Jared Isaacman for NASA Administrator to Trump during the initial nomination. With Duffy’s recent remarks on Artemis III, I wonder if Elon could again influence Trump’s decision.

Based on a lot of reporting over the last two days one thing seems clear: Jared Isaacman was on a good path to being re-nominated to lead NASA. Sean Duffy and his chief of staff, Pete Meachum, have increased their lobbying to stop that. Trump will decide what happens next.

Whoever the new NASA head may be, they will face the most consequential decisions in decades. China is determined to land humans on the Moon by 2029, aiming to showcase the achievement before a major political anniversary. NASA, meanwhile, is racing to build a lunar lander to

Wow. This is the first public statement from NASA that the agency is now looking to other companies to compete with SpaceX to build the crewed lunar lander for Artemis III in an effort to beat China back to the Moon by 2028.

In comparison, Astrobotic lists a price of *$1.2 million per kg* to the Moon’s surface using their lunar landers. SpaceX’s Starship is greatly undercutting the average price per kg to the Moon and beyond.

Jared Isaacman’s NASA Administrator nomination reportedly may be revived - huge if true. Jared has huge support across the American space industry, previously 28 former NASA Astronauts signed a letter to members of the Senate in support of his position of NASA Administrator.

Vast’s Haven-1 space station is advancing rapidly. After not competing in NASA’s CLD Phase 1, the company chose to build & launch its own space station before the next award, believing this will give an advantage for the Phase 2 contract to build Haven-2, successor to the ISS.
